DiaViewer is a slideshow app for Apple TV that works with PhotoPrism. Sign in to your own server, pick albums, and let the TV play your photos and videos.
Three ways to show a photo
Pick one in Settings. You can switch any time without signing in again.
Pan & Zoom
Each photo slowly zooms and drifts in a random direction while it's on screen. Good for landscapes and anything shot wide.
Photo Wall
Several photos at once, arranged on a colored wall. Choose from one to seven columns and four layouts:
Play exactly what you want
- Albums, one or many
- Select any mix of albums. Or pick a whole kind at once: every album, every moment, every month, every folder, or every place.
- Favorites or everything
- Play only the photos you've starred, or shuffle through your entire library.
- Videos and live photos
- Videos play inline. Let each one finish, or cut it off at the same length as a photo. Downloaded clips are cached so repeats start instantly.
- Your pace
- Set how long each photo stays up. Turn on captions to show a photo's title, description, or location.
- Stays awake
- The Apple TV won't drop to its screensaver while a slideshow is running.
- Quiet by default
- Video sound mixes with whatever else is playing instead of interrupting it.
Drive it from the couch
No menus to dig through while a slideshow is running. The remote does it all.

Set up in about a minute
You'll need an Apple TV running tvOS 26.4 or later and a PhotoPrism server the TV can reach.

Enter your server
Type the address you already use in the browser, like
http://192.168.1.50:2342orhttps://photos.example.com, plus your PhotoPrism username and password. -
Choose what to show
Pick albums, a kind of album, your favorites, or the whole library.

Start the slideshow
Choose a slide style and timing. Press Menu on the remote any time to get back to Settings.
Your photos stay between your TV and your server
DiaViewer talks only to the server address you enter. There's no DiaViewer account, no cloud relay, and no analytics. Your password and session are kept in the Apple TV's Keychain, and signing out clears them.
Questions
Is DiaViewer made by PhotoPrism?
No. DiaViewer is an independent app built to work with PhotoPrism. It isn't affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by PhotoPrism UG. For help with PhotoPrism itself, see the PhotoPrism documentation.
Does my server need to be on the internet?
No. A server on your home network works fine over plain HTTP. If your server is reachable from outside, DiaViewer works with that address too.
Which PhotoPrism account should I use?
Any account that can see the albums you want to show. A separate read-only account for the TV is a sensible choice.
Does it work with other photo servers?
Not today. DiaViewer currently supports PhotoPrism only.
Does it run on iPhone or iPad?
No, DiaViewer is made for Apple TV.
